About Opportunities For Change
Opportunities for Change is a 501c3 organization committed to helping those challenged in their search for employment and self-sufficiency. Founded in 2008 by husband and wife, Edward Collum, Sr. and Donna Roncarti, the organization originally focused on returning citizens (ex-offenders) returning to become productive members of society.
Pulling on his experience as a contractor and restaurateur, Ed had unique experience understanding the challenges faced by those coming out of prison. Through discernment and facing the challenges of this outreach, the couple understood that many faced similar challenges. The organization expanded its resources to include veterans and those facing long time unemployment.
Opportunities for change have collaborated with several organizations to develop unique programs that assist many in their job search. Partners include:

- Job Link; One Stop Workforce Development Center, Alexandria, VA.
- Western Tidewater Parole and Probation – District 6
- Providence Psychological Association
- Jobs for Life
Programs like Pathways help those returning to society to set goals and establish a plan for success to re-enter the workplace. Certifications from Microsoft Office Systems, AARP, CertiPort, and Oasis provides the team at Opportunities For Change tools and resources necessary for participant’s success.
